The IVF Process
Ovarian Stimulation
Hormonal injections help the ovaries produce multiple mature eggs over about 10–12 days, monitored by scans and blood tests.
Egg Retrieval
A short ultrasound-guided procedure under sedation collects the mature eggs from the ovaries.
Fertilisation
Eggs are fertilised with sperm in the laboratory, either conventionally or via ICSI for male-factor cases.
Embryo Culture
Embryos are grown and monitored for 3–5 days. The healthiest blastocyst is selected for transfer.
Embryo Transfer
A thin catheter places the embryo into the uterus — a quick, usually painless procedure.
